Traveller
Why is packing so difficult?
Unsure what to take and what to leave behind?
Feel a sense of attachment with your belongings?
The Prophet (SAW) said:
"What relationship with the world have I? My similitude is like a traveller on a mount, halting in the shade of a tree (for a short while only to leave it again, and proceed along the sojourn)."
The traveller rests a while in the shade and then moves on again.

Salaam Alaikum:
An excellent blog :) There is a tale of Shah Nimatullah, who when a poor dervish came to visit his grand khaniqah, he was amazed at its richness and finery. When he was leaving, the Sufi master said he was also planning on leaving so he would accompany him. They walked a few miles together when the dervish exclaimed that he had forgotten his kashkul, his carved bowl that held his few possessions. He asked Shah Nimatullah to wait til he ran back to get it. Shah Nimatullah replied, "I have left behind all the finery that you thought so wonderful, and you can't even leave behind a simple kashkul. You are not worthy to travel with me."
And so, it is with packing, what of ourselves do we value that me cannot leave behind? Travel light, for surely love is all you can take with you when you leave the world.
nice n precious....jazakallah
